Imagine what Stan could have done if he hadn’t got on that wretched plane. So many songs we never got to hear. Legend.

After driving from Regina, SK in February to move to Victoria, BC, I boarded the Ferry, went up to an outdoor deck and set my Spotify liked songs on shuffle and popped my earbuds in. Watching the white foam rushing under me as I left the prairie winter behind for the island, this song came on. I felt the spirit of this song in my very soul that night

It's probably 40 years ago....waiting at the gates of the Philadelphia Folk Festival for the evening concert...when...someone...started singing this to pass the time. By the second chorus everyone in line was singing.

I love this song. I think it's one of Stan's best songs. I think the live one is more spirited than the studio version. Tragic that he was taken from us so young

My Dad used to clean the space between the floor boards and the hull where all the slub and shit used to pile up ,The crawl space was only big enough for a child to fit into . He did that in the 20's after his father died to feed his Mom and brother's and sister's and he did...... I guess he was a lucky kid. See you when I get there Dude
